Many children are shy because they lack the opportunity to speak in front of others. They need to feel that if they speak others will listen. Our classes provide gentle coaching in a fun and respectful environment where children can speak and be heard. With practice, most “shy” children become very strong Leaders.
Many extroverted children are mistakenly labeled as “outspoken”. Teachers may see their talking in class as a disruption. These children are looking for an opportunity to share their ideas with others. We embrace the exchange of ideas, and provide ample opportunity for this much needed self-expression in our students.
Elementary school is the perfect time to learn Leadership, and communication skills. It is never too early to start creating positive Leadership experiences so your child thrives in life taking opportunities to be heard. Having good communication skills is the foundation for a successful life. It is important to learn these skills early.
The fear of Public Speaking is learned over a series of negative experiences. This fear can be reversed if a child has many more positive experiences than negative ones. Our classes teach the techniques that children need in order to deliver a speech with confidence. We embrace and discuss the reasons behind this fear with our students. We make class fun. We take special care to create a respectful environment where children look forward to giving their next speech to their eager audience.
Bullying is not allowed in our center. Our classes are governed by Star Rules. Star Rules ensure a positive and safe speaking environment for our students to develop their confident voices in front of others. If you want your child to get personal help with bullying please enroll your child in private coaching or the social skills program.
It is very rare that a child is unable to follow the rules and support others as there are many chances to learn and grow in our program. However, sometimes a child may not have the maturity to maintain a disruption-free environment. In these very rare cases, a child is removed from the program and is welcomed back when emotionally and mentally ready to provide a respectful environment for his/her classmates. Kid Power Academy understands that the “Fear of Public Speaking” is developed from a series of negative experiences with others. Therefore, we reserve the right to remove children from the program who may recreate these negative experiences until they are ready to be supportive.
Kid Power classes are fun and fast-paced. Students practice the leadership skills they are acquiring during each class. It is recommended to not miss any of the classes in the session. Each class is imperative for skill advancement and confidence building. Classes cannot be made up if missed, but the children will be given ample leadership time to make up for what they missed.
Parents are not allowed in the classroom for insurance and safety purposes. Children tend to become shy when adults, and even parents are present. It is important for our students to feel safe and free to express themselves. However, parents can purchase coaching clips of their child by requesting via email for the payment link.
We love having siblings and best friends in our classes! Often one child is more talkative than the other and this is a great way for the kids to fully hear one anothers ideas. You can save by enrolling together and using the "sibling" promo.
Our classes are geared to teach Leadership skills to kids by using public speaking techniques in a fun forum. Students are taught the importance of Eye Contact, Vocal Projection, Body Language, and Topic Knowledge. Our classes are created to foster positive peer encouragement and a safe environment for self-expression. We believe learning should be in the form of fun. We create an exciting forum to practice speaking on subjects that our students are knowledgeable and interested in. Every child is given one-on-one coaching from their instructor, and guidance from their peers. Our goal is to give our students the skills they need in order to deliver a speech with confidence and clarity.
We are a small-group coaching center that gives every child the help they need. We are not a drop-off center where a child can feel lost in a large group of kids. The Coach will focus on growing your child's skills and abilities. We focus gently on the individual needs of your child.

The length of our courses varies depending on the subject and level. Generally, courses range from 2 to 10 weeks.
No, Kid Power Academy does not provide cognitive, or speech, or psychological therapy. We offer life-skill leadership and communication skill coaching. Please consult your Pediatrician for help in finding the correct specialist for your child’s needs.
We do not specialize in helping kids on the Autistic Spectrum. Our programs are small group, fast-paced, and gently push kids to connect. This can sometimes cause kids on the spectrum to feel overwhelmed and need to self sooth. Because we do not have staff to step away with the child we do not recommend our programs for kids who do not manage well in fast paced environments with lots of social stimulation. We do however have success with helping kids who are high-functioning on the autistic spectrum who can fully participate and support others. We do recommend reaching out to us to register for a one on one for children who do best in quiet less stimulating environments.
If you need to cancel you will be issued a lifetime credit for your child. Simply email us to let us know you need to take a credit and once you can join us again you just email to confirm your new class, camp or coaching session with us. Because we are a full-scale coaching center we can support your child from the ages of Tot to Teens we are here for you anytime you want to use your credit for your child.
